NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University women’s soccer team fell in a hard-fought 1-0 match this past Saturday to the Tribe of William and Mary at the ODU Soccer Complex.

Old Dominion head coach Angie Hind exclaimed, “With this being our first game of the spring season, I was really pleased with how we worked as a team. I really wanted us to get out there and compete both individually and as a collective unit and I felt for the most part, we did that. It was my first real opportunity to see us in a full game situation and I was really pleased with the work-rate and commitment from everyone.  William and Mary is a strong program and therefore it was a challenging first game and so to limit them to very few goal chances and create a few of our own was pleasing.”

William and Mary scored their goal around the 38th minute off a free kick that was cleared wide down the left wing and then slotted across into the six yard box, where the Tribe managed to force the ball into the back of the net.
