Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University men’s tennis team will return to the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center this weekend for two home matches against No. 34 Dartmouth on Friday at 11:00 a.m. and then on Sunday at 11:00 a.m., ODU will take on No. 64 College of Charleston.

The Tennis Monarchs boast a 10-5 overall record and defeated the one conference opponent they faced this year in UTSA (4-3).

Old Dominion is led by No. 71 Carlos Lopez Villa, who has played No. 1 singles for the Monarchs throughout the season. Lopez Villa is 14-1 on the year. Zvonimir Podvinski has also been terrific for ODU, as he is currently 11-3 in singles play.

Dartmouth Big Green (11-3)
-Ranked No. 34.
-Coming off a win over no. 61 Indiana.
-Their only losses were to No. 51 Oklahoma State, No. 34 Columbia and No. 22 Memphis.
-Highlighted wins over No. 58 Arkansas (at Oklahoma State), No. 65 Cornell, No. 63 East Tennessee State and No. 72 Buffalo.
-Will compete against VCU on Friday
-Chris Drake is in his fourth year as head coach at Dartmouth and has an overall record of 40-25. Before coming to the Big Green he was an assistant at Northwestern.
-The doubles tandem of No. 23 Cameron Ghorbani and Brendan Tannebaum are currently 8-2.
-Dovydas Sakinis and Brandon DeBot have a doubles record of 11-2.

College of Charleston (10-4)
-Ranked No. 64, which is the second highest ranking in school history.
-Notable win over No. 57-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes and No. 75 Presbyterian.
-CAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Week Zack Lewis is currently 10-2.
-C of C has won seven of their last eight matches.
-Alon Faiman is 9-2 in single’s play.
-Jay Bruner is in his seventh year as head coach of the College of Charleston men's tennis team. Last year Bruner lead the team to a 13-9 record which included an undefeated season of 9-0 at home. The Cougars won the Southern Conference Championship in 2012 and 2010. Bruner was also named SoCon coach of the year in 2010.
