EL PASO, Texas – The No. 7 seeded Old Dominion University women’s basketball team (16-14, 9-7) will put their five-game winning-streak on the line on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. EST/7:30 p.m. MT, in what will be the first ever Conference USA Tournament for the Lady Monarchs.

Opponent for Wednesday Night
The Lady Monarchs received a single-bye for finishing within the 5-8 seeding range and will take-on No. 15 seeded UTSA (13-16, 4-12).

Playing Their Best Ball at the Right Time
Old Dominion has won five consecutive ballgames, which is the third longest active win-streak out of all 16 C-USA teams heading into the conference tournament. The Lady Monarch’s current five-game win-streak is the longest for ODU during the Barefoot era. ODU has also won seven of their last nine contests.

Wednesday’s game will be aired live with the Voice of the Lady Monarchs, Doug Ripley, on the play-by-play call and former Lady Monarch assistant coach, Susan Montgomery handling color duties. Doug and Susan’s radio broadcast will begin live at 9:00 p.m. EST/7:00 p.m. MST.

STREAMING
The C-USA Digital Network will offer exclusive streaming coverage its men's and women's basketball championships as teams battle for titles in El Paso, Texas. The Digital Network will show a total of 23 live games as well as provide press conferences and feature stories throughout the week-long event.

Live online streaming will begin with first round games on Tuesday, March 11, with four women's games. A total of eight second round games on Wednesday and another eight quarterfinals on Thursday will be available.

Due to programming restrictions, the semifinals and title games will not be streamed. CBS Sports Network will air the C-USA women's championship on March 15 and also the women's semifinals games on Friday, March 14.

Shae Kelley Named to First Team All-Conference USA
On March 9, Conference USA officials announced that ODU’s junior forward, Shae Kelley, had been named to the All-Conference USA First Team. Joining Kelley on the First Team were: Jada Payne (So., G, East Carolina), Jerica Coley (Sr., PG, FIU), Ebony Rowe (Sr., F, Middle Tennessee), Jessica Kuster, (Sr., F, Rice), Jamierra Faulkner (Sr., PG, Southern Miss), Karisma Chapman (Sr., F, UAB) and Kayla Thornton (Sr., F, UTEP).

Shae Kelley is Creeping Towards More Lady Monarch History
Shae Kelley has scored 959 points over her first two seasons at Old Dominion, which puts her just 41 points away from becoming only the fifth player in school history to obtain 1,000 points in their first two seasons in a Lady Monarch’s uniform.

Galaisha Goodhope Garners All-Conference USA Academic Team Honors
Galaisha Goodhope was named one of just five members to the Conference USA All-Academic Team. Goodhope is the only underclassman to garner this prestigious honor.

Joining Goodhope on the 2014 Conference USA All-Academic team are Academic All-Americans Ebony Rowe of Middle Tennessee and FIU's Jerica Coley, as well as FAU’s senior Kimberley Smith and junior Jamie Kaplan of Tulane.

In order to be eligible for the distinction, nominees must hold a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average, be a starter or key reserve for their team and at least be of sophomore academic standing.

Karen Barefoot Claims Win No. 250
When the Lady Monarchs defeated Marshall 65-52 in overtime on February 1, at the Ted Constant Center, the victory gave ODU head coach, Karen Barefoot, 250 career wins.

ODU's Recruiting Class Nationally Ranked No. 43
The All Star Girls Report has released their top 115 schools’ incoming recruiting classes for 2014 and has ranked the Old Dominion University women’s basketball team No. 43, which is the top ranked team in Conference USA.

Kelley Becomes First Basketball Player in School’s History to Garner ‘C-USA Player of the Week’ Honors
On December 9, 2013, Old Dominion University’s junior forward Shae Kelley was named C-USA Player of the Week. For the two games that week, Shae averaged 25 points, 14.5 rebounds, four assists, three steals and 1.5 blocked shots per game and shot an average of 56.4% from the floor.

Former CAA Rookie of the Year, Ashley Betz-White Redshirted 2013-14 Season
On January 29th, Old Dominion University women’s basketball head coach, Karen Barefoot announced that the Lady Monarch’s all-conference junior guard, Ashley Betz-White, will redshirt this season due to bilateral stress fractures in her lower legs.

Lady Monarch’s 2013-14 Education Day
The women’s basketball team had 8,086 elementary school children at the Ted Constant Convocation Center on Dec. 4, 2013 for its third annual Education Day Game with the Norfolk Public Schools. The game marked the Lady Monarchs’ highest attended game since the Ted opened in 2002.
