BLACKSBURG, Va. – Old Dominion University junior Rachel Eckert earned a fourth place finish in the 1-meter dive Monday afternoon at the Zone A Championships.
By placing in the top-five, Eckert is in contention for a spot at the NCAA Championships next week. The at-large spots depend on the rest of the zones.
Eckert was in fifth place at the end of the preliminaries with a score of 256.10.
She jumped a spot in the finals to finish with a score of 511.70. Kaylea Arnett of Viginia Tech won with a score of 620.65.
Eckert will compete in the 3-meter dive tomorrow starting at noon.
