Devyn Hannis Joins Women's Soccer 2014 Incoming Class

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University athletics has announced the addition of Devyn Hannis to the 2014 class of signees, which will be led by new head coach Angie Hind. Hannis is the fifth player which has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Lady Monarchs on the pitch in next fall.

About Devyn Hannis
Hannis reigns from Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Pa., where she plays for Continental FC Delco, which is part of the Elite Clubs National League. The five-foot-eleven forward participated in the Olympic Development Program for Eastern Pennsylvania and was also recruited by Baylor, Florida State, George Mason, Minnesota, Providence and Temple. The Pennsylvania native has blazing foot speed on and off the ball, and is known for not only setting up but also scoring goals, as well as her overall physical strength. Hannis is a member of the National Honor Society at Emmaus High School.

With the addition of Hannis, Old Dominion now will add five outstanding incoming freshmen to their roster for the 2014 season. Hannis joins Deirdre Bradley, a 5-9 forward from Marple Newtown High School, in Newtown Square, PA., Natalie Johnson, a 5-10 center midfielder from Havelock High School in New Bern, NC., Karlie Kellstrom, a 5-9 defender from Woodbridge High School, Woodbridge, VA., and Rachel McEntire, a 5-8 midfielder from West Springfield High in Springfield, VA.

Bradley, considered a four-star recruit by topdrawer.com, was a member of three straight Eastern Pennsylvania state championship teams from 2009-2011, and competed for the Penn Fushion Soccer Academy club team.  She participated in camps with the Irish U-17 women's national team and is ODU's first recruit to train at the national team level. Bradley considered offers from Syracuse and Ohio State before choosing ODU.

Johnson is a three-time member of the North Carolina Olympic development team and was a 2013 U.S. Soccer Federation regional member. She also competes as a member of the Jacksonville Area Soccer Association club program. She also had interest from UNC Charlotte and UNC Wilmington.

Kellstrom plays for the Prince William Soccer Courage, a well known club team in Northern Virginia that also participates in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League. A national honor society member, Kellstrom also considered James Madison and Boston University.

McEntire plays for the Braddock Road Youth Soccer Club, which also participates in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League. The midfielder previously played for McClean of the Elite Clubs National League and competed internationally in Spain as a member of the U.S. Region 1 U.S. Youth Soccer Association team.  Considered a four-start recruit and the 13th best player in the Mid-Atlantic region by topdrawer.com, Rachel was also recruited by Kentucky, Miami (FL), Delaware, Rider, Manhattan and Florida International.
