Murfreesboro, Tenn. – The Old Dominion University women’s basketball team (9-10, 2-3) will head down south looking to snap the 15-game winning streak of the league leading Blue Raiders from Middle Tennessee (16-3, 5-0) on Saturday, January 25. Tipoff will take place at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), which will make for a 4:00 p.m. tip in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Saturday’s conference USA battle will be televised in Hampton Roads on Cox Channel 114.

MT’s Ebony Rowe, who has 2,141 career points, is just eight away from breaking Kim Webb's all-time scoring mark in school history of 2,148. Webb's record has stood since 1987.

Saturday’s game between the Blue Raiders and Lady Monarchs can also be seen on television in the Murfreesboro area on CW 58.

The 2013-14 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (13-2, 2-0)
Last year, Middle Tennessee finished their final season in the Sun Belt with a conference tournament title, which gave the Raiders’ their fifth consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament, which marks the longest stretch ever for the program. For the past nine seasons, Middle Tennessee has reached 20-plus victories.

The Blue Raiders are led by Rick Insell, who is currently in his eighth season at the helm and is the school’s all-time winningest women’s basketball coach. MT’s 15-game winning streak is currently the fourth longest in the nation.

Senior Honorable Mention All-American, Ebony Rowe, currently has a streak on 10-consecutive games with a double-double; for the season, Rowe has already recorded 16 doubles-doubles.

The 2013-14 Old Dominion University Lady Monarch’s (9-10, 2-3)
Old Dominion will not only looking to get the .500 mark overall and in conference play on Saturday.

To this point, the Lady Monarchs have been led by: Shae Kelley (16.8 points, 10.5 rebounds), Tiffany Minor (9.0 ppg/3.9 rpg), Chelisa Painter (8.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg), Galaisha Goodhope (8.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg) and Stephanie Gardner (8.0 ppg).

The Lady Monarchs are averaging 69.1 points a game and hitting 40.9 percent of its field goals on the season. ODU averages knocking down 5.5 three-point field goals per contest. On average, Old Dominion forces 18.1 turnovers per game and collects 9.1 steals per contest.

On Saturday night in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Shae Kelley will be seeking her 13th double-double of the season.

The Lady Monarch's Last Time Out
The Blazers from UAB took down Old Dominion, 80-64, on Wednesday night at the Ted Constant Center on Military Appreciation Night.UAB’s Karisma Chapman (10-13 FT’s) led all scorers and rebounders with 28 points and 17 boards; Chapman also dished out five assists in the winning effort.

Leading the way for the Lady Monarchs (9-10, 2-3) was sophomore guard, Galaisha Goodhope who netted 16 points, distributed a career-high seven assists and hauled down six rebounds. Also in double figures for Old Dominion were: juniors Shae Kelley (14 points, eight rebounds and three steals) and Chelisa Painter (13 points and nine rebounds). Becca Allison did a little bit of everything for ODU on Wednesday night, as she went for nine points, six boards, four assists and four steals.

Looking Ahead for the Lady Monarchs
Old Dominion will remain on the road for their next context against East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. on Wednesday, January 29 at 7:00 p.m.
