The ODU Monarchs open the 2013-14 regular season under the direction of first year head coach Jeff Jones Friday night at 7:00 pm. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center. The contest is a "White Out" game.

The two teams have only met once before. ODU defeated the Bears 75-68 in 2011-12 season in Springfield, MO. which was a nationally televised Bracketbusters game. In that game, Richard Ross scored nine points and Dimitri Batten scored eight points as freshmen.
Missouri State is picked to finish fourth in the Missouri Valley.
