NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University wide receiver Antonio Vaughan earned multiple national awards for his performance in the Monarchs’ 42-14 win over Campbell last Saturday.
Vaughan was named the College Sports Madness Independent wide receiver of the Week and the National Wide Receiver of the Week by College Football Performance Awards.
The junior receiver caught a game-high eight passes for a career-high 171 yards and a career-best and school record tying three touchdowns. The 171 yards receiving is the second highest total in school history.
For the season, Vaughan has caught 59 passes for 841-yards and nine touchdowns. The 59 catches are one off from his season-best total of 60 last season and he is 45 yards away from his 885-yards from last year. The nine touchdowns are a career-high.
Vaughan and the Monarchs travel to North Carolina on Saturday to take on the Tar Heels in the final game of the season at noon.
