ODU’s Last Game
On Monday night, despite a valiant effort that saw plenty of lead changes, the Lady Monarchs fell to Virginia Tech (2-0) 73-61. The Hokies were carried by Taijah Campbell and Monet Tellier’s 19 points apiece which proved to be the difference in the game.

Still, the ODU defense stood strong throughout the contest, forcing 18 turnovers which led to 20 points of their own. The Lady Monarchs outscored the Hokies 13-5 on points off turnovers by the clock’s expiration, but it was not enough to turn away the talented Virginia Tech squad.

Offensively, Lady Monarch senior guard Stephanie Gardner racked up a game-high 20 points while junior forward Shae Kelley added 13 of her own. In addition, freshman Odegua Oigbokie contributed a career-high nine points to the Lady Monarchs’ total despite only seeing action on the court for 12 minutes.

Radford’s Last Game vs. Lynchburg
Radford will play at Norfolk State on Friday night for a 6 p.m. tipoff before traveling to the Ted Constant Center on Sunday at 2 p.m.. Led by first-year head coach Mike McGuire, Radford (2-0) enters Sunday’s contest after dismantling Lynchburg College 72-49 Tuesday night. It was the second-straight game that saw three Highlanders record double-doubles, as Ayana Avery scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds, Rachael Ross racked up 11 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, and Jordynn Gaymon scored 10 points and added 13 rebounds of her own.

The Highlanders were statistically dominant in every category and made 25-of-67 field goals during Tuesday night’s contest. They also converted 14 of 18 free throw attempts and collected 56 rebounds to Lynchburg’s 35.
