NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University senior returner Aaron Evans and wide receiver Blair Roberts earned national honors from the College Football Performance Awards, the CFPA announced on Monday.

Evans was named the CFPA National Punt Returner of the Week after taking a punt back 64-yards to lead ODU’s comeback win over Liberty on Saturday.  The Monarchs trailed Liberty 17-7 with just over four minutes remaining when Evans caught the punt at the 36, went up the middle and burst outside untouched for the touchdown.

Evans’ return set up Roberts’ game-winning touchdown catch with 28 seconds remaining.  It was the junior wide receivers second TD reception of the game and he also led ODU with seven catches for 86 yards.  Roberts leads the Monarchs with 33 catches for 346 yards and five touchdowns.

The Monarchs have a bye this week before traveling to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. contest.  The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
