BLACKSBURG, Va. – Carlos Lopez Villa (Madrid, Spain) of the Old Dominion University men’s tennis team completed his third day of play at the ITA Atlantic Regional’s in Blacksburg, Va. on Sunday. All men’s Regional action is taking place on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Lopez Villa picked up two more key wins, as he now advances to play in the Quarterfinals of the Single Main Draw tomorrow morning.
SINGLES
On Friday, No. 6 seeded Carlos Lopez Villa (ODU) received a bye in the First Round. On Saturday, Lopez Villa defeated Virginia Tech’s Aaron Gomez, 7-6(12), 6-1. On Sunday, Lopez Villa took down Radford’s Patrick O’Keefe in three sets (2-6, 7-6(8), 6-2). Lopez Villa then went on to defeat No 17-32 seeded Ethan Dunbar from Richmond, 7-5, 6-1. Tomorrow, Lopez Villa will have a showdown with UVA’s Jordan Daigle in the Round of 8 Singles Main Draw.

Monday, Oct. 21: 10 a.m. – Doubles semifinals followed by singles quarterfinals and semifinals.
Tuesday, Oct. 22: 10 a.m. – Finals of both singles and doubles.
