MYTLE BEACH, SC—ODU junior Jamison Randall fired a 69 and is tied for sixth after the first round of the Golfweek Program Challenge, held at the True Blue course of the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. As a team, the Monarchs are eighth.
Randall is only three strokes behind the tournament leader J.T. Poston of Western Carolina who shot 66 in the first round, followed by Poom Pattaropong of JMU and Peter Webb of Valparaiso, both at 67.
ODU freshman David Langley (Buckinghamshire, England) and sophomore Ashton Newsom (Chesapeake, VA.) are tied for 18th after shooting 73.
James Madison leads the even with a 280, followed by Northern Iowa at 284, Akron and IUPUI are tied for third at 285.
