MYRTLE BEACH, SC—Led by the play of freshman Rachel Walker along with Kimberley Bradbury and Gemma Fuster, the Lady Monarch golfers are in fourth place after the first round of the Golfweek Program Challenge held at the Caledonia golf and Fish Club.
ODU shot 296 and is only six strokes back of tournament leader Campbell who is at 290, followed by Western Carolina at 293, and Stetson at 294.
Walker, a freshman from Dumfries, Scotland shot 72, while seniors Kimberley Bradbury (Derbyshire, England) and Gemma Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) are tied at 14 after firing 74. Fellow senior Elizabeth Haycock shot 74 and is tied for 25th.
The individual leader is Lisbeth Brooks of Campbell at 69, followed by Alexandra Prazak of Campbell and Jenna Hoecker of Stetson, both at 70.
