NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion (2-6, 0-1) faces off against Providence (4-4, 1-0) this Friday at 3:00 p.m. from the L.R. Hill Sports Complex in the Big East home opener.

The Lady Monarchs return to the field after defeating Michigan State 3-1 on Sunday. Danielle Clutter and Teisha King both scored in Sunday's win, while ODU outshot both MSU and Louisville this weekend 22-12. Sarah Breen scored 3 goals on 7 shots this weekend and was named to the Big East Honor Roll.

This will be the first time in 22 years Old Dominion will host a conference game played other than in the Colonial Athletic Association (dating back to 1991) and now reside in the new Big East.

"It is important for us to play well this weekend," Head Coach Andrew Griffiths said. "Providence is a strong, physical team who are persistent, and have had some good results. We will need to continue to play a structured, disciplined game - and take our chances when they come."

The game against Providence is the Monarch Media Game of the Week, which will be broadcasted by ODU Sports Properties Ted Alexander and Katelyn Smither (Kelsey's older sister)--ODU '11.
