CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Taylor Heinicke, Colby Goodwyn and Jarod Brown were honored by College Football Performance Awards for their performances in Saturday’s victory over The Citadel, the CFPA announced on Monday.
Heinicke was named the CFPA National Performer and National quarterback of the week, as the junior signal-caller completed 35-of-42 passes, for 363 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 52 yards and ran 25-yards for a touchdown.
Goodwyn ran 16 times for a season-high 94 yards and caught three passes out of the backfield for 29 yards. He was named honorable mention all-purpose performer of the week.
Brown, earned honorable mention place kicker honors, knocked through a career-high and school record 52-yard field goal to give ODU a 51-38 lead in the third quarter. He converted back-to-back onsides kicks while five of his kickoffs were kicked out of the end zone for touchbacks.
The Monarchs are back in action this week as they host Albany on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m.
