LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No. 20 ODU (1-6, 0-1) managed to score with under two minutes left in regulation and send the game to overtime, but came up short in a 3-2 loss to No. 19 Louisville (5-2, 1-0).

ODU's Big East opener started late due to a rain delay and would have one more half hour delay before finishing with No. 19 Louisville winning 3-2 in overtime. Old Dominion outshot Louisville 9-7. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Breen had another big game scoring both goals for the Lady Monarchs.

"It was not a disciplined performance and we cost ourselves the game by not capitalizing on chances and getting two yellow cards," said ODU Head Coach Andrew Griffiths.

In the first half, Cardinals Victoria Stratton would score on a penalty corner shot. ODU Sarah Breen would answer off a penalty corner goal of her own. Louisville's Mallory Mason would give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead into halftime. In the second half, Sarah Breen would tally her second goal of the night and team leading eighth point to tie the game at 68:16. Overtime served as the deciding factor. Erin Schneidtmiller would tip in the game winner on a long pass from Victoria Stratton near the outside circle.

ODU plays Michigan State Sunday at 11 a.m. in Louisville.
