Heinicke Earns College Sports Madness Honor

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University junior quarterback Taylor Heinicke was named the College Sports Madness independent Player of the Week, the organization announced on Sunday.

Heinicke led the Monarchs to their highest point total in school history in Saturday’s win over Howard in a 76-19 victory.  Heinicke was 20-of-27 through the air for 406 yards and four touchdown passes.  He also rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown.

The Old Dominion offense produced 733 yards of total offense, the fourth most in school history while the 10 touchdowns tied a school record that was set last season against Campbell.

Old Dominion hosts their second-straight game on Saturday when they host The Citadel at 6 p.m.
