NORFOLK, VA - ODU third baseman Jordan Negrini and outfielder Brian Beard were selected to All-Star Teams in their respective summer leagues. Negrini is in the Coastal Plains League and Beard is in the Valley League.
The native of Hawaii, Negrini, a rising senior was one of four Peninsula Pilots selected to the Coast Plains League All-Star game played on July 8th. Negrini through 19 games was hitting .318 with ten RBI’s and 11 runs scored. He also had two triples and a homerun through the midway part of the season. He started for the East Division.
Beard, a rising sophomore from Chesapeake, Va. was one of five Waynesboro Generals named to the Valley League all-Star Team. Beard, an outfielder was hitting .270 with a homer, 12 RBI, and 11 runs scored in 24 games played.
