CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Old Dominion University football junior Antonio Vaughan was named to the College Football Performance Award punt returner Watch List, the CFPA announced on Tuesday.
Vaughan, a native of Ahoskie, N.C., returned just seven punts in 2012, but he averaged 13.1 yards per return and delivered a 70-yard touchdown to put the Monarchs up for good in the regular-season home finale victory, 38-28, over William and Mary.
The junior is also ODU’s leading returning receiver, catching 60 passes for 885 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Vaughan and the Monarchs open the 2013 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at East Carolina at 7 p.m.
