NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University quarterback Taylor Heinicke will join national ESPN Radio show host, Scott Van Pelt, tomorrow on his show at 1:30 p.m.
Van Pelt co-hosts a show with Ryen Russillo on ESPN Radio and ESPN News from 1-4 p.m. Monarch fans can listen in locally on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM.
Heinicke was recognized as the 2012 Walter Payton Award Winner, signifying the Best Player in the FCS. He broke Steve McNair’s 18-year old single-season passing yard record, throwing for 5,076 yards. He tossed 44 touchdown passes last season and ran for 11 more, as he earned All-America honors from seven organizations. Heinicke was named CAA Player of the Year and also received the Dudley Award for the Best Division I Player in Virginia.
The Monarchs take on East Carolina in the season opener at East Carolina on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
