• Old Dominion finished the regular season with a 42-28 win over FIU on Saturday at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.
• Old Dominion finished the regular season with a 9-3 overall record, and 7-1 Conference USA record, the same record as WKU. WKU advances to the conference championship game due ot its head-to-head victory over the Monarchs.
• Junior running back Ray Lawry had another outstanding performance in the win over FIU, rushing 24 times for 194 yards and three touchdowns. He now holds the ODU all-time record for touchdowns with 40. It was the 17th 100-yard rushing game of Lawry’s career.
• Sophomore running back Jeremy Cox added 15 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown in the win.
• Zach Pascal notched registered eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown, the 12th 100-yard receiving game of his career. He also rushed twice for 27 yards, including a 25-yarder to set up an ODU touchdown. Pascal broke Antonio Vaughan’s career record for receptions with 231.
• On the first snap of the game, Aaron Young intercepted his team-leading third interception, and fourth of his career.
• Anthony Wilson had a team-high seven tackles, giving him 90 for the season, while Oshane Ximines had six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. He broke teammate Bunmi Rotimi’s record for single-season sacks with 7.5.
• ODU becomes the second youngest college football program in the last 25 years to make a bowl game. South Alabama, UTSA and Georgia State made a bowl game in their sixth season of football. Florida Atlantic also made a bowl game in their eighth season of football. The Monarchs are in their second full season of bowl eligiblity.
