SKILLMAN, N.J. - Old Dominion University men's tennis sophomore Carlos Lopez Villa moved into the top-100 for the first time in his career, ranking No. 93 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll.
He finished the year 18-1, with three victories over ranked opponents. He started the year winning his first 13 matches before losing to a top-60 opponent from Virginia Tech. He rebounded by winning his next five matches on the year.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Lopez Villa earned First-Team All-Conference USA accolades and earned Second-Team doubles honors with partner Can Cetinel.
