NORFOLK, VA--Former ODU standout Kent Bazemore ('12) from Kelford, NC., completed his first NBA season helping the Golden State Warriors to the NBA Western Conference semifinals, beating third seeded Denver (4-2) then battling second seeded San Antonio, losing, 4-2.

The 6-5 Bazemore, a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year, played in 61 games for the Warriors, averaging 2.0 points per game.

On March 15, Kent scored 14 points on five-of six shooting from the floor in 12 minutes against the Chicago Bulls. He scored 11 points with two rebounds, and two assists in 16 minutes against Oklahoma City on Feb. 16.

Kent scored his first NBA basket on Dec. 14 at Orlando. He grabbed a season high four rebounds on Jan. 16 against Miami and Jan. 18 against San Antonio. Bazemore dished out a season best five assists on Jan. 16 against Miami.

In the post season, Bazaemore played in nine games scoring two points on May 6 in the Conference Semifinals at San Antonio. He also played four minutes on May 14 with two rebounds and a steal at San Antonio.

At ODU, the First Team All-CAA selection completed his career with 1,416 points ranking him 20th all-time. Bazemore is the school's second all-time steals leader with 250 and played more games, 140, than any Monarch.

His senior class won 101 games, more than any other in school history, as Bazemore was a part of two CAA Championships, two NCAA tournaments, and the 2009 Collegeinsider.com National Post Season Championship. Kent who graduated with two degrees (Human Services & Criminal Justice) is one of only four Monarchs to have over 200 career steals.

Kent Bazemore is the ninth Monarch to play in the NBA.
