Norfolk and the Ted Constant Convocation Center are one of four sites for the Regional rounds of the NCAA® Division I Women's Basketball Championship in 2013 along with Spokane (Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena), Bridgeport, Conn., and Oklahoma City (Chesapeake Energy Arena).

The Ted Constant Convocation Center has played host to the NCAA® Tournament six times since its opening in 2002 with the first and second rounds in 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012 as well as the Mideast Regional in 2004.
