Early Deficit Too Much for Lady Monarchs in 16-9 Loss at Towson

TOWSON, Md. – The Old Dominion University women’s lacrosse team dropped their eight consecutive game on Sunday afternoon at Johnny Unitas Stadium to CAA leader Towson, 16-9.

Towson (7-7, 5-0) came out of the gate quickly taking a 3-0 lead in the first five minutes. The Lady Monarchs would respond however as they netted back-to-back goals from sophomore midfielder Ashmore Standing on a free position attempt and by freshman midfielder Mary Margaret McCaleb to cut it to 3-2. The Tigers would then take command with five consecutive goals to go ahead, 8-3.

Old Dominion (3-12, 1-4) was able to score again at the 12:48 mark when senior midfielder Jordynn Collins found the net on a feed from junior defender Jordynn Collins, Meredith Rogers will be honored before the game in their final home contest.
