NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University men's tennis is fresh off being ranked for the first time since 2009, and the No. 67 Monarchs take on George Washington at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on Friday at 1 p.m.
The Monarchs split last weekend against ranked opponents, falling to No. 58 Dartmouth but defeating No. 27 Harvard.
Sophomore Carlos Lopez Villa leads the charge with a 6-0 record at No. 1 singles while junior Wesley Barrett and freshman Zvonimir Podvinski are each 4-2.
George Washington comes into Friday with a 1-1 mark. The Colonials lost their opener to No. 70 Cornell, 6-1 and beat East Carolina, 4-3.
GW has two singles players ranked in the top-100, Francisco Dias at No. 76 and Nikita Fomin at No. 96.
ODU returns to the courts on Sunday when they host Temple at 1 p.m.
