Men's Tennis Earns National ITA Ranking

NORFOLK, Va. - For the first time since March of 2009, the Old Dominion University men's tennis team is ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll, coming in at No. 67.

ODU is now 4-2 on the season after defeating then No. 27 Harvard on Sunday, 4-3.

Sophomore Carlos Lopez Villa leads ODU with a 6-0 record at No. 1 singles. Wesley Barrett and Zvonimir Podvinski have 4-2 records for the Monarchs.

This is the Monarchs' first time in the ITA poll since being ranked No. 69 during the 2009 season.

The newly ranked Monarchs take on George Washington Friday at 1 p.m. at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
