NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University men's tennis had a week off but the Monarchs moved up 13 spots in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, coming in at No. 54.
The Monarchs are 7-3 on the year and have a win over then No. 27 Harvard. Harvard has gone 4-1 since the loss to the Monarchs and are No. 23 in the poll.
ODU is led by sophomore Carlos Lopez Villa who is 10-0 on the year. He has twice been honored as the Conference USA men's tennis Athlete of the Week.
Lopez Villa and doubles partner Can Cetinel are ranked No. 58 with a 7-2 record.
ODU is back in action this weekend as they travel to Florida Gulf Coast and Florida Atlantic.
