NORFOLK, Va. - Behind a season-high 48 points in the first half, the Old Dominion University women's basketball team coasted past Hofstra on Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at the Ted Constant Convocation Center, 80-57.

Nine of ODU's 10 players that saw action scored and four of them scored in double digit as the Lady Monarchs won their third consecutive game to improve to 19-9 overall and 10-6 in league play.

The 80 points scored was the second most this season by ODU and the most in a CAA contest as they shot 46.3 percent (25-54) and held Hofstra (12-14, 8-7) to just 28.8 percent (19-66) in the game.

Both seniors that were honored for Old Dominion provided a well balanced attack as Jackie Cook scored 17 points and added seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block while Mairi Buchan chipped in six points, six rebounds, a block and steal and tied her season-high with six assists.

Sophomore Shae Kelley matched Cook with a game-high 17 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and block while sophomore Ashley Betz-White set a season-high in three pointers with three as she added 12 points, two assists and a rebound. Redshirt junior Becca Allison tallied 12 points, three assists and two rebounds.

ODU shot a season-best 86.2 percent from the free throw line as they also set season-bests in both free throws made (25) and attempts (29). 

For Hofstra, All-America center Shante Evans was contained to just 10 points and seven rebounds along with three assists and three steals. Evans exploded for 26-second half points and a game-high 30 points in the first meeting between the two teams in Hempstead back on Jan. 20. Anma Onyeukuk led the Pride with 16 points and thee assists while Candace Bond added a game-high nine rebounds and Andreana Thomas collected six assists.

The Lady Monarchs had a 36-23 advantage in the paint and scored 24 points off 16 Pride turnovers. The ODU bench outscored HU, 32-17. 

Old Dominion rounds out the regular season with a pair of road games beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. at James Madison before their season finale on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at Northeastern.
