ODU Sweeps Weekly CAA Swimming Awards

NORFOLK, Va. - Sidni Hoxha has been selected as this week's CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week. Kimberley Rashleigh won this week's CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week award.

Hoxha continued his impressive junior campaign with three individual victories in the Monarchs' 153-141 victory over William & Mary last weekend. He posted times of 46.22 and 1:42.36 to earn first place in the 100 and 200 freestyle races, while setting a new pool record in the 50 free with a time of 20.49. Hoxha also anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay team with teammates Ben Hansen, and Vitor Sa. This is Hoxha's third time winning the CAA's weekly award.

Rashleigh also picks up her third CAA women's swimmer of the week award after tallying three victories in the Lady Monarchs' narrow 144-140 loss to William & Mary. She collected victories in the 100 (57.11) and 200 (2:01.85) back, while winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:07 to set a new pool record. Rashleigh also anchored the second-place 400 freestyle relay team with teammates Savannah Bowers, Ashley Luchsinger, and Morgan Johnson. 

Old Dominion will be back in action starting on Feb. 27 for the CAA Championships in Fairfax, Va.
