NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's tennis looks to improve on their 2-0 start this weekend as they take on George Washington Saturday at 1 p.m. and UMBC Sunday at 10 a.m.
ODU started the season winning two matches last Saturday, dropping Norfolk State 7-0 and Howard, 6-1.
Nikol Hristova, Nika Khmolovska, Melissa Esnal Olguin and Ivana Vukovic won both their matches over the weekend to start 2-0.
This is the 2013 season opener for GW. The Colonials went 16-7 a year ago.
Junior Leah Pascarell led the team with 16 wins a season ago.
UMBC is 0-1 on the year after a 6-1 loss season-opening loss to William and Mary. Shannon Cleary had the lone UMBC win, with a three-set triumph at No. 6 singles.
ODU defeated the Retrievers 4-3 last season.
