Lady Monarchs Take on No. 12/13 Delaware on Thursday

NEWARK, Del. - Old Dominion University women's basketball is coming off a big win on Sunday over Hofstra and now travels to face No. 12/13 Delaware on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Newark.

The Lady Monarchs are coming off a thrilling 81-79 win over Hofstra on Sunday as Jackie Cook got a pass from Ashley Betz-White and scored the game-winning layup with 2.7 seconds to go to give ODU the win.

ODU got a big performance from Mairi Buchan with 20 points, including a start which featured 14 points the first seven minutes of the game.

Tia Lewis garnered her third-straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She was named CAA Co-Player of the Week for her performance.

Betz-White added 11 points to go along with five assists, including the one she had on Cook's game-winner.

Lewis leads the Lady Monarchs with 18.1 points and 9.1 points per game, ranking her fifth in the CAA in both categories.

Cook is second on the squad with 9.1 points per game while Betz-White chips in 8.9 per game.

The Blue Hens bring a 20-1 overall record and 11-0 CAA mark into the contest. Their only loss is an 85-76 setback at No. 5 Maryland on December 29.

Delaware is led by Elena Delle Donne, who leads the nation in scoring at 28.1 points per game. She also averages 10.1 rebounds per game.

Lauren Carra is second on the team with 9.0 points per game while Danielle Parker chips in 8.1 per game.

ODU finishes out their three-game road trip on Sunday when they travel to UNCW at 2p.m.
