Lady Monarchs Host Northeastern on Thursday

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball finishes off their three-game homestand Thursday, February 23 when they host Northeastern at 7 p.m.

The Lady Monarchs fell to VCU on Sunday in the 10th Annual Hoops for a Cure game. JoNiquia Guilford led ODU with 13 points while Jackie Cook added 12.

ODU was a perfect 15-for-15 from the foul line for the first time in school history. Mairi Buchan, Cook, Ashley Betz-White, Guilford, Becca Allison, Tiffany Minor and Shakeva Richards all went 2-for-2 at the line while Myeisha Hall was 1-for-1.

Senior Tia Lewis is just nine points away from passing Adrienne Goodson for 11th on the ODU all-time scoring list. Lewis leads the squad with 17.1 points per game and in rebounds at 9.2 per game.

Northeastern is 6-20 overall and 4-11 in CAA play. The Huskies have won two in a row, with wins over Georgia State and James Madison.

Deanna Kerkhof was named CAA Player of the Week last week and leads the squad with 14.5 points per game.

Sophomore Jewel Tunstull leads the CAA in field goal percentage at 57.9 percent and is second on the team with 12.4 points per game.

ODU is on the road on Sunday as they travel to James Madison for a 3:30 p.m. contest that will be broadcast on ComCast SportsNet.
