Kent Bazemore had an unpleasant flashback. As the Golden State Warriors' bus backed into the loading dock at the Verizon Center on Saturday evening, the rookie remembered the last time he'd been in the building.
It was March 17, 2011, when Old Dominion fell to Butler 60-58 in the second round of the NCAA tournament on a buzzer-beating tip-in, ending the Monarchs' season in gut-wrenching fashion.
"Oh, man, a little chill hit me," Bazemore said. "It's a totally different ballgame now, though."
That it is. Nearly two years later, after beating long odds, the 6-foot-5 guard is the first ODU product in a decade to wear an NBA uniform, and one of just four undrafted rookie free agents to make a team this year.
