NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University men’s swimming team and women’s swimming/diving team will return to action on Dec. 1 at the J.C. "Scrap" Chandler Pool located in the Student Recreation Center. Monarch swimmers will host George Washington; while the Lady Monarchs are set to compete against George Washington as well as the Rutgers’ swimming and diving team.
The last time ODU was in the water was Nov. 16-18 at the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, N.C. Old Dominion set all types of records (see here) in the three day tournament.
The Monarchs (2-1) got strong performances from Sidni Hoxha, Bernardo Figueredo and Jason Haigh among many others. Hoxha set a new all-time CAA record in the 100 yard freestyle (43.43).
Kimberley Rashleigh, Yesim Giresunlu and Jessica Hubert all won final events in day three of the Nike Cup for the Lady Monarchs (4-1).
The Lady Monarch divers will compete against Rutgers starting at 10 am on Saturday. Men’s and women’s swimming will begin at 1 pm.
This will be the last event for Old Dominion until Jan. 12 when ODU will take on UMBC in Baltimore, Md.
