NOROFLK, VA--Old Dominion University head men's golf coach, Murray Rudisill announced the signing of two recruits to letters of intent for the 2013-14 school year. Joining the Monarch family will be Thomas Henderson (Sterling, MA.) from the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fl, and David Langley (Bucks, England).
"These are two excellent golfers and will come in ready to make an immediate impact on our team." - ODU head coach Murray Rudisill.
David Langley ranks 16th among junior golfers in the United Kingdom. He won the B.B. & O county championships (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire ) three straight years. Langley was the 2010 under-16 Champion, the 2011 and 2012 under-18 champion. He is the son of Jane and Edward Langley and is planning on majoring in sports management at ODU.
"I choose ODU because of the area, the outstanding golf facility and the strong tournament schedule they play as well as current Monarchs and fellow natives from Great Britain Tom Wilde (Bucks, England) and James Brockington (Oxfordshire, England)."
"David is another wonderful golfer from Bucks, England. He has won his county championship with is equivalent to our state titles for the past three years. He graduated last year and is taking this year off to devote himself totally to his golf game." He already is playing at a very high level and will only continue to get better before coming to ODU next August." - Murray Rudisill.
Thomas Henderson had top 15 finishes in two FCWT tournaments this fall, and one top five in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour while attending Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy. From 2009-11 he attended St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, MASS where he helped lead the team to a 51-3-3 record winning two district titles and one state Championship. Henderson was the district medalist as a junior andfinished sixth in the State Championships. He was a three-time Central Massachusetts All-Star.
Henderson competed in the Callaway junior worlds as a two-time state qualifier, Big I National Championships, FCWT National Championships and Optimist World Finals.
In 2012 he was the Big I Massachusetts Regional and State Champion, and to 20 in 10 different AJGA, FCWT and US Challenge cup events. He was also the youngest ever to win the Sterling national Club Championship at age 15.

Henderson is the son of Karen and William Henderson and is considering majoring in sports management/ business.
"Thomas is the third New England golfer that we have signed in the past two years. He has an excellent record in the junior and high school tournaments in the northeast as well as having played in a number of national events. He is already a very skilled golfer, but will only get better after spending a year atthe prestigious golf academy and competing in various tournaments in Florida during the year." - Murray Rudisill.
