NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's and women's swimming & diving teams will host UNC-W and Richmond on Friday and Saturday at the J.C. "Scrap" Chandler Pool at the Student Recreation Center.
Action on Friday begins at 4 p.m. and Saturday's events will start at 10 a.m.
The ODU men's swimming & diving team earned nine individual and a pair of relay wins in last year's victory over the 11-time defending CAA Champion UNC-W Seahawks. Among those helping the Monarchs to the 186-165 win were first place times captured by the 200 and 400 medley relay teams, Sidni Hoxha in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Bernardo Figuredo in the 500 and 1650 freestyle, and Jason Brame in the 400 individual medley.
The ODU women's swimming & diving team meanwhile picked up six individual win as they spit last year's meet with an 86-77 win over Richmond and 96-67 loss to UNC-W. Lady Monarch event winners included Yesim Giresunlu in both the 500 and 1650 freestyle, Savannah Bowers in the 200 freestyle, and Jessica Hubert in the 200 butterfly.
Following this weekend's home meet with the Seahawks and Spider, the Monarchs and Lady Monarchs will host the Second Annual Five Mile Swim-a-Thon on October 20th and travel to Delaware for a conference contest at the University of Delaware on October 27th.
