Lady Monarchs Travel to William and Mary Thursday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball travels to William and Mary to take on the Tribe at 7 p.m. Thursday night.

The matchup is part of the Optima Health Challenge between the two schools. ODU currently leads 40-20 with 10 points going to the winner of tomorrow nights contest.

Old Dominion is led by senior leader Tia Lewis who is fourth in the CAA with 18.8 points per game and fifth with 8.8 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Jackie Cook has scored in double figures in five-straight games and is second on the team in scoring with 8.9 points per game.

Freshman guard Ashley Betz-White is sixth in the league in assists with 67 and seventh in assists per game with 3.5

William and Mary is 8-10 overall and 1-6 in the CAA.

William and Mary is the second highest scoring team in the CAA, averaging 71.1 points per game. They are first in three-point percentage at 38.1 percent and second in field goal pct. at 41.9 percent. The Tribe also lead the league in assists.

W&M has four players averaging double figures. Janine Aldridge and Taysha Pie average 14.9 and 14.0, respectively, which has them 10th and 11th in the CAA. Emily Correalis 12th in the league in scoring at 13.8 while Jaclyn McKenna chips in 10.4 a game.

ODU returns home on Sunday, January 29 when they host George Mason at 2 p.m.

Lewis Invited to Free Agent Camp
Tia Lewis has accepted an invitation to attend the ProHoops Free Agent Camp on March 31 in Denver, Colo.

The ProHoops Free Agent Camp is an invitation only camp to give the top college seniors an opportunity to be evaluated by WNBA coaches and other staff members before the draft to be held in April, 2012.
