NORFOLK, Va. - Hofstra had three players score 20 plus points en route to an 81-68 win over Old Dominion University Sunday afternoon at the Ted Constant Center.

Tia Lewis had a game-high 27 for ODU but Shante Evans, Marie Malone and Nicole Capurso each had 20 points to lift Hofstra.

More to come.NORFOLK, Va. - Hofstra had three players score 20 plus points en route to an 81-68 win over Old Dominion University Sunday afternoon at the Ted Constant Center.

Tia Lewis led ODU with a game-high 27 points, but ODU was held without a field goal for eight minutes early in the second half, and scored just 22 points in the second half after scoring 46 in the first half.

ODU cut the Hofstra lead to five at 63-58 with six minutes to play but the Pride quickly pushed the lead to 10 on a three-pointer from Nicole Capurso and a jumper from Anma Onyeku to take a 69-59 lead.

Hofstra started the second half on a 19-5 run to take a 60-51 lead, with eight points coming from Capurso. ODU was held without a field goal for eight minutes until Ashley Betz-White knocked down a long jumper from the left corner.

Cook got off to a fast start for ODU, scoring the first eight points for the Lady Monarchs. Cook gave ODU an 8-7 lead on a short jumper but Capurso gave Hofstra the lead with a three-pointer at 10-8.

Hall scored six of ODU's next eight points to give the Lady Monarchs an 18-17 lead.

Marie Malone kept the Pride in the game, as she scored 10-straight points, as ODU pushed its lead to four on a Becca Allison three-pointer for a 29-25 advantage.

Hofstra fought back to take a three-point lead at 38-35 on a jumper from Onyesonam Nolisa, but ODU fought right back to take the lead on a layup from Ashley Betz-White. Lewis scored the final six points of the half for Old Dominion, giving the Lady Monarchs a 46-41 lead at the break.

With 27 points, Lewis moves into 17th in the ODU all-time scoring list with 1,423 points. She also grabbed nine rebounds and is now just five rebounds shy of becoming the seventh Lady Monarch to record 1,000 career rebounds. Cook added 15 points three assists and three steals.

Evans had 10 rebounds to go along with her 22 points, while Malone and Capurso also had 20 points. Malone just missed her first career double-double with nine rebounds.

The Lady Monarchs are back in action Thursday, Jan. 19 when they travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia State.
