NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University junior midfielder Gideon Asante and senior goalkeeper Victor Francoz have been selected with national player of the week honors.
Asante, who scored a goal and also assisted on another in ODU's 2-0 win over 25th ranked Central Florida was named CAA Player of the Week and National Team of The Week by CollegeSoccer News.
Monarchs goalkeeper Francoz, was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week for his four saves aginst UCF which is his second straight shutout.
The unbeaten nationally ranked Monarchs (2-0) hosts the 37th annual Stihl Soccer Classic this weekend, Sept. 7 and 9 with Seton Hall, Winthrop and VCU along with ODU.
