NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball will play nine Colonial Athletic Association home games to highlight the 2012-13 schedule, including Delaware, James Madison and William and Mary, the CAA announced Tuesday.
The Lady Monarchs will play 18 conference games along with the 12 non-conference games games. The conference schedule runs from January 6 through March 3. All conference game times and dates are subject to change.
"This team is excited and ready for the challenge of the upcoming season and finishing strong in the CAA," ODU head coach Karen Barefoot said. "With four of our first six games on the road it will be a tough schedule, but we will be prepared and ready for the challenge.
ODU will start its final season of CAA play on the road Jan. 6 at Georgia State before traveling to Drexel on Jan. 8.
The Lady Monarchs are home for the next two contests, including the CAA home opener Jan. 10 against Towson and on Jan. 13 against the defending CAA champions, Delaware.
Old Dominion will hit the road once again and travel to UNCW and Hofstra on Jan. 17 and 20th respectively, before hosting Georgia State on Jan. 24 and going back on the road Jan. 27 at William and Mary.
Following the road trip to the Tribe, ODU plays two-straight at the Ted Constant Center starting Jan. 31 versus Drexel and Feb. 3 against UNCW.
February 7 the Lady Monarchs travel to George Mason for the only meeting of the season with the Patriots before hosting James Madison on Feb. 12. ODU heads to Delaware two days later to take on the Blue Hens Feb. 14 before starting a three-game home stand starting Feb. 17 with Northeastern.
The home stand continues on Feb. 21 against William and Mary and the final home contest of the year Feb. 24 with Hofstra. ODU will honor seniors Mairi Buchan and Jackie Cook before the game against Hofstra.
ODU ends the season on the road with back-to-back away games at JMU Feb. 28 and finishing the regular season at Northeastern March 3.
The Lady Monarchs return three starters from a season ago, inlcuding seniors Mairi Buchan and Jackie Cook, along with reigning CAA Rookie of the Year Ashley Betz-White.
