NETANYA, ISRAEL - Former Old Dominion University standout Tia Lewis signed a contract to play professionally for Elizur Netanya of the Women's Premier League in Israel.
Lewis capped off an outstanding career this past season, leading the Lady Monarchs with 16.3 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game as well as finishing third in the CAA with 35.5 minutes per game.
A native of Poulan, Ga., Lewis finished her career 10th all-time in ODU history with 1,624 points and tied for fifth with 1,024 rebounds.
She led the squad in scoring 17 times last year, recording double-digit points 27 times along with 11 double-doubles. She notched a career-best 30 points in a 68-59 win over Georgia State.
Lewis is the fourth player to sign with the team from the United States and three of those players come from the state of Virginia. Also joining Lewis are Richmond's Abby Oliver and VCU's Courtney Hurt. Charel Allen, a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame, is the fourth American on the team.
Lewis becomes the fourth former Lady Monarch to play for Elizur Netanya, joining Tamara Ransburg, Monique Coker and Okeisha Howard.
