RICHMOND, Va. - Old Dominion University women's soccer senior Taylor Mertz was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
A native of Midlothian, Va., Mertz helped the Lady Monarchs to a 2-0 season opening win over NC State on Friday.
She recorded an assist on Ashlee Coutu's game-winning goal and scored her first career goal to help ODU ice the game.
Mertz and the Lady Monarchs travel to East Carolina on Wednesday to take on the Pirates at 7 p.m.
