NORMAN,OKLA.-- ODU rising senior Thomas Wilde (Bucks, England) has been named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association. Wilde is one of 146 players in Division I selected with a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher.
Wilde carries a 3.38 cumulative grade point average in sports management. Heearned first team All-CAA honors this season as he tied for eighth at the CAA Championships, eighth at the ODU/Outerbanks Invitational and fourth at Pinehurst. He shot season low round 66 in the first and 68 in the 3rd round at the Wyoming Classic and compiled a 73.6 overall stroke average.
Wilde joins former Monarch golfers Stan Guerrero (2007), Chris Piercy (2002 and 2003) and last year's ODU Sports Hall of Fame inductee and CAA Champion Geoff harris (2002 and 2003) as selected Scholar All-Americans.
