NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's tennis finished off the regular-season with a 5-2 victory over Temple Sunday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
With the win, ODU improves to 12-9 on the year and will begin the CAA Tournament this coming week.
The Lady Monarchs won the doubles point, as all three matches were tight contests. Diana Ivanova and Aleksandra Mitrovska defeated Paola Calderon and Rebecca Breland 8-6 to put ODU on the board after Temple got the first win at No. 2 doubles.
Juliana Pires and Faith Atiso clinched the doubles point with an 8-5 win over Yana Mavrina and Agnese Rozite.
Old Dominion kept up their solid play in singles, as Pires got down two sets to none, but stormed back to win the first set 6-2 and finished off the win with a 6-2 second set win at No. 5.
Ivanova won a hard fought 6-7 (7-5) 6-2, 6-1 match at No. 1 while Mitrovska took a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 2.
Esnal Olguin completed the win with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at No. 5 for the Lady Monarchs.
Calderon and Maame Ama Osei won singles matches for the Owls.
