SCOTTSDALE, AZ-- ODU junior Garth McGee (Bangor, Northern Ireland) shot 69 in the final round to finish 54 holes with a 207 and tie for 14th at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Talkin Stick-North Golf Course. Junior, Thomas Wilde (Berkshire, England) also finished in the top 20 tying for 17th with a three-round score of 208 after shooting 68 in the final round.
As a team, ODU tied for ninth with a 842 score. The Monarchs shot 278 today and 275 in the first round,b ut shot 289 in the second round. Kansas State won the event at 826, followed by Colorado two strokes back with an 828.
Ben Juffer of Kansas State and Mike Wuertz of Colorado State tied at 198, but Juffer wins the event in a playoff.
Both Neil Henderson and Jamison Randall had an eagle, while Garth McGee's 12 birdieswas ninth in the tournament and John Dawson's 40 pars was tied for sixth best.
The Monarchs return to action at the CAA Championships April 27-29 in Wilmington, DE.
