NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University Women's Lacrosse team returns home on Saturday to the Powhatan Sports Complex where they will face Virginia Tech at 1 p.m. Before the match, ODU will honor former University of Virginia Women's Lacrosse player Yeardley Love with a moment of silence and wear wristbands during the game to honor the One Love Foundation.

Old Dominion (3-5), winners of two of their last three contests, is coming off their most complete performance of the season on Wednesday in a 21-6 rout of Longwood in Farmville. It was the fourth most goals scored in school history and the fourth largest margin of defeat as 11 different Lady Monarchs scored and eight of those players had multiple goals.

Continuing to spread the wealth offensively, five different Lady Monarchs now have double-digit goals and a total of 15 different ODU players have scored a goal this season. Seniors Lisa Bernardini (17), Rebecca Hartrum (15), Rebecca Reymann (11) and Sarah Wright (10) lead the charge in goals while sophomore Emily Austerberry (11) has also been a big contributor. In goal, senior Sarah Geary has caused seven turnover, racked up 19 groundballs and picked up 58 saves while allowing 82 goals on the season.

Virginia Tech (5-4) is coming off a 12-5 win at Mount St. Mary’s (Md.) last Saturday. The Hokies and Lady Monarchs have one common opponent so far this season in American. ODU fell at AU on March 3, 16-10, while Virginia Tech defeated the Eagles, 14-11, in Blacksburg on March 7. After winning the firs two in the all-time series, ODU has lost the last three match-ups against Virginia Tech including last season’s 18-10 defeat in Blacksburg.

The Hokies have five players in double-digit goals this seasons and are led by senior midfielder Jessica Nonn who had 19 goals and nine assists on the year. Freshman attacker Megan Will also has 19 goals to lead the Hokie attack. In goal, junior Alex Gale has 38 saves and 86 goals against her on the season.
