NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University Women's Lacrosse team hits the road for three of their four contests beginning Wednesday when they head to Longwood University. First draw is set for 4 p.m. at the Athletics Complex in Farmville, Va.

ODU (2-5) is coming off a split last weekend at home. On Saturday, the Lady Monarchs snapped their four-game losing streak with a 10-4 win over Saint Joseph’s at the Powhatan Sports Complex. Senior midfielder Lisa Bernardini matched her career high and single-handedly outscored the Hawks with five goals. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Sarah Geary had her best performance of the season and she allowed just four goals and picked up seven saves in the win.

In a defensive struggle that saw just three total goals scored in the first on Sunday, ODU hung tough with No. 2 North Carolina before a strong second half powered the Tar Heels to a 14-3 win in Norfolk. Bernardini continues to lead the team this season with 15 goals and five assists while a total of 12 different Lady Monarchs have found the back of the net this year. Senior midfielder Rebecca Hartrum has 12 goals while senior attacker Rebecca Reymann and senior midfielder Sarah Wright each have eight goals on the year.

Longwood (1-6) has dropped three straight games after picking up their lone win of the season back on March 2 in a 17-11 home win over Cincinnati. The two teams have a pair of common opponents this year as Navy defeated both squads and ODU downed Louisville, 14-12, in their season-opener in Norfolk, while Longwood fell to the Cardinals at home, 19-8. ODU leads the all-time series, 2-1, but Longwood picked up their first ever win over the Lady Monarchs last year in Norfolk, 15-11.

The Lancers are led by Jamie Brentlinger junior midfielder who has 15 goals and an assist. Senior midfielder Jessica Rudloff had added 11 goals for Longwood while sophomore attacker Alexa Anderson has eight goals and three assists. In goal, junior Mollie Zimmerman has 77 saves and 122 goals against her on the season.
