NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University Women's Lacrosse team will begin the road portion of their 2012 schedule on Saturday when they face American University at Jacobs Field in Washington, D.C. at 1 p.m.

ODU (1-0) is coming off a thrilling 14-12 comeback win over Louisville in their season-opener at home on Sunday in which seven different Lady Monarchs scored a goal. Senior midfielder Lisa Bernardini (Langhorne, Pa.) was honored as the CAA Player of the Week after scoring three goals with four assists in the win over the Cardinals.

Senior midfielder Rebecca Hartrum (Springfield, Pa.) also scored three goals for ODU while redshirt senior goalkeeper Sarah Geary (Springield, Pa.) collected seven saves. Senior attacker Rebecca Reymann (Catonsville, Md.), senior midfielder Sarah Wright (Cazenovia, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Meredith Rogers (Ashburn, Va.) scored two goals each against Louisville while senior attacker Mary Bermingham (Annandale, Va.) and sophomore midfielder Emily Austerberry (Barto, Pa.) also found the back of the net for the Lady Monarchs.

American (2-1) is coming off their first defeat of the season on Wednesday when they fell late at home to Richmond, 12-11. The Eagles have defeated Davidson and Columbia at home to begin the 2012 season. Junior midfielder Emily Burton leads the AU attack with 11 goals while junior attacker Kimberly Collins has nine goals and senior attacker Lauren Schoenberger has a team-high six assists. In goal, senior Kaska Komosinski has 22 saves for the Eagles.

The Lady Monarchs are 18-2 all-time against the Eagles but have dropped the last two meetings with AU.
