RICHMOND, Va. (March 14, 2012) - Old Dominion's Garth McGee(Bangor, Northern Ireland) received CAA Men's Golfer of the Week accolades after a second place finish at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
McGee, a junior, was runner-up by six strokes to Villanova's Michael Kania. McGee shot 70 in the first two rounds and finished the final round shooting 76 at the 6,819-yard, 71 par Pinehurst No. 6 Golf Course in Pinehurst, N.C. The junior led the Monarchs to a tournament title by four strokes over Eastern Kentucky. VCU and UNCW also participated in the same event finishing eighth and ninth, respectively, in team scoring.
